Scott Hooper
It’s all about the people! Serving our nation was Scott’s greatest honor. Serving those who have served our nation, and our community is his calling.
Scott Hooper is a Co-founder, Instructor, and President of the Board of Directors for Horsemanship for Heroes. A retired U.S. Army combat veteran (Somalia, Iraq x3), Scott served over twenty-five years in the Infantry. During that time, he held multiple leadership and senior advisory roles across the globe. Scott is a PATH, Intl. certified Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning. Personally impacted by the human-horse bond, Scott considers this program potentially life-changing for all…participants and volunteers alike.

Karolyn Hooper
Karolyn (goes by “K”) has great love and respect for Veterans, Emergency Responders and their families, and has a passion for sharing the healing power of the horse with those in need.
Karolyn Hooper is a Co-founder, Instructor, and the Executive Director for Horsemanship for Heroes. K retired from the U.S. Army after twenty-three years of service, including multiple combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. She is certified as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), and as a Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) and Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL) by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International (PATH, Intl). A life-long learner, K is an Assistant Faculty Instructor in the Equine Studies Department of Post University.
Treasurer, H4H Board of Directors
Cameron Clarkson
Cameron Clarkson holds a strategic role as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Horsemanship for Heroes (H4H) thanks to a blend of community dedication, professional expertise, and a deep love for all-things Equine.
Cameron is a prominent accountant and the founder of Clarkson Accounting, a well-respected accounting firm based in Reno, Nevada. With over three decades of experience in the accounting field, Cameron has built a reputation for providing reliable financial services to individuals and businesses alike.
Cameron became a horse lover from growing up on a ranch in South Reno and sees first-hand on a daily basis how horses can be so important to helping others heal.
He was given the appreciation for volunteering at a young age, watching his family volunteer with the Reno Rodeo and other local charities.
He is currently a Co-Chair for the Admissions Committee of Reno Rodeo as well as several other committees.

Jerry Forsch
Jerry Forsch is a lifelong Reno resident with more than 40 years of leadership experience in commercial sales and business development. He has served as Commercial Sales Director for Corwin GMC, Reno GMC, and Winkle Motors for over 27 years, specializing in fleet and business vehicle solutions. Throughout his career, Jerry has been known for his commitment to honest, straightforward service grounded in integrity, accountability, and long-term relationships.
Deeply engaged in the Northern Nevada community, Jerry has served as President of Reno South Rotary and President of the Executive Association of Reno. He currently serves on the boards of Horsemanship for Heroes and the Washoe County Junior Livestock Association. A Master Graduate of Rapport Leadership International, Jerry brings a values-based leadership approach rooted in respect, integrity, and a belief in the good in others—principles that strongly align with the mission of Horsemanship for Heroes.

Kristina Anderson Patton
Kristina is a native of England and lived in Los Angeles and San Francisco before moving to Reno 5 years ago. She has over 20 years of professional experience in global brand licensing and strategic partnerships working for companies such as Microsoft, Disney, Lucasfilm, Diageo, and Mattel. Kristina currently runs the global licensing program for Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey. Throughout her career, Kristina has been known for her dedication to building strategic partnerships and delivering record ROI though IP and brand commercialization.
Personally, she has always been passionate about horses and thrives on helping others. Meeting the Horsemanship 4 Heroes team at a community event resulted in her passions finding the perfect match. Kristina holds a U.S. and U.K. passport and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild with a resume in voice over acting and on-air radio presenting and music programming.
A committed team player who cultivates a healthy work environment in which the work being accomplished is enjoyable and has meaning and value for all. Her personal philosophy is to live each day truthfully with grit, gratitude, and a growth mindset.

Amy Larner Schoen
Amy is happy to be living back in the Reno-Tahoe area. As a seasoned business development and investment professional, she has extensive experience spanning technology, media, and real estate, Amy has held senior leadership roles at both emerging and established companies, consistently driving revenue growth and operational excellence.
Amy is currently the Managing Partner of Larner Investments, where she manages a nationwide real estate portfolio and oversees acquisitions, operations, and long-term performance.
She brings strong strategic judgment, financial acumen, and collaborative leadership to the H4H BOD.
Amy has strong ties to the U.S. military as her parents met while serving in the U.S. Army stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany. Over the years, she has intermittently tended to and ridden horses. She is looking forward to using her skillset to further the goals of H4H for years to come.
